We are delighted that our Irish Stout Bread Mix has made it through to the finals of the 2020 Blas na hEireann Awards.
This bread mix is easy to make and quick to bake, giving fantastic results for even the novice baker. This recipe requires 4 additional ingredients but it is well worth the effort; milk. Any stout will work, I like to use Guiness but sometimes I use a local craft stout called Yannaroddy from Kinnegar also made in Donegal.
This makes a 2lb loaf and the only equipment required is a 2lb loaf tin for the oven.
You can divide the mixture into two and make 2 x 1lb loaves and freeze one for later. If this is your guilty secret or sneaky treat, why not slice it before you freeze it and lift a slice out a time?
